AGE

to age is to lose, to lose, to lose;
but maybe also to grow wiser . . .

you get closer to the bones
& your wind gets dry

its hard out here for an elder –
– try to be humble, try to not stumble –

feel the force of Cellular Life
& let it firm your strong old bones

aerating, watering, oiling the fuselage,
rotating & balancing the wheels

still stepping the steps, still there for your peeps,
still sailing in dreamland while the animal sleeps
