A NEW MONEY

Can we design a New Money?

Because the Economics we have now punishes many and concentrates power in the hands of a few. That is not a healthy economy. It doesn’t support natural thriving.

Look at how money works – money amassed by cheating has the same value and confers the same power as money made honestly. Ruthless exploitation pays off bigtime. Money as it now works incentivizes evil.

It’s not as though Money or the Market is some perfect neutral system of defining value. We can see how it is manipulated and distorted. So if value is always subjective, could it be looked at from a fresh angle?

What if we create a new kind of money (Not crypto, not the kind we’ve seen yet anyway – that has all the flaws of  the current system). We the People need a different kind of money that works better for us.

Money is a legal matter, a mutually accepted symbol of value. New Money can be defined by a rethought social contract. The law of Old Money is based around concepts of Property and Rights. Perhaps the New Money could be based around concepts of Trust and Care. Is that impossible to achieve, with many working together?

Can we define Trust in a basic contract, written in language as plain and clear as we can manage? Can we measure it, earn points for it? Can we design a money that gains value through earned trust and loses value whenever trust is abused?

Can we create a system where profit comes from the flourishing of land and people, not from the exploitation and exhaustion of those resources? Can we figure out how to create healthy incentives?

Can it be done? I say we need this!
