Painting on Bodies

My body painting work is about art as a point of contact between people, as a direct experience of transformation, as an act that responds to boundaries by transcending them. I begin painting the body with no design in mind. The brush, in contact with the body, naturally moves following the form and the energy, and the whole painting experience is an interaction with the person being painted. The painting that emerges from this process seems a natural outgrowth of the body, enhancing its individual beauty and perhaps revealing subtle energies beyond the skin surface. Those who are painted sometimes report experiences of healing, of awakening energies or shifts of consciousness.
