I just noticed that the post directly below this one, "The Beauty of Rain", also shows pedestrian street signals. The fifth photo in that post, from 2003, though it's at an unreadable angle, still shows the old incandescent style that spelled out "Don't Walk". The sixth and seventh photos, from 2005, show the new LED signals with the sequined glove and moonwalk icons.

Richard, you can call me whatever you like - Fred is fine. Welcome to Drawing Life. I hope you'll check in and comment here regularly. I glanced at your site and it looks interesting. The first post I saw on your blog was on Harvey Kurtzman, so you won me over right away.

Mr. Hatt (is that too formal?)

Amen regarding your comment about our civilization not evolving out of human sacrifice. There is hope however, that people with "eyes to see" can recognize it for what it is. Perhaps sacrifice will loosen its grip on humanity.

I feel a little preachy at the moment. Forgive me.

On a brighter note, I really do admire your artwork. I first saw it in the Drawing magazine.

Take care and keep up the great art work!

Peace,

Richard

That is terrific Fred! Love it! This post is both sensitive and ingenious. It made me smile and cry at the same time.

Aren't you and MJ the same age?
